SHE has been involved in a number of research initiatives examining how participatory processes can facilitate greater insight in problem solving on health, education and environment issues. More recently SHE has developed a participatory action research framework to examine ecosystem health linkages related to untreated wastewater and pesticide used among peri-urban farmers in Senegal. This framework is presently being used in projects to examine exposure to toxics in the home in Europe.
SHE is also involved in the International Collaboration on Participatory Health Research whose mission is to develop a theoretical base of good practice for participatory research in health.
